APPS Sensor

Today I placed a gauge on my fuel line, has close to 10 psi at idle. Shavings in fuel filter must have been from the vp-44. I also attempted to adjust the APPS sensor, I was able to get the voltage closer to the .551 vdc it asks for, but still not near it. The throttle still intermittedly cuts out. I went to the dodge dealer, they quoted me around $550 for the new unit. . For now, I guess I am going to be putting up with the intermittent throttle loss untill I can rack up a few bucks.

The shavings in your filter are from your nearly dead lift pump, If I were you right now I'd focus on getting an upgraded fuel system installed rather than your APPS. Because if you have 10-8 psi at Idle which is bare minimum, when you push on the throttle you will prolly drop it down to near zero.

APPS $500

New VP-44 inj pump $1200-$1300, and that's not including labor to install it

When the engine is revved up in neutral, there is still about 9 psi, I know that it is not in gear with a load though. I figured it was the lift pump leaving also, but when I talked with the shop they said that it was probably the injection pump with the shavings entering from the bypass line. What would be an Ideal psi at idle for the lift pump?

Your return line does not drain back into your filter housing! That shop needs a little more training on the system. It's your lift pump that is coming apart sorry to say but that is the concern. I have both parts APPS and a new Lift pump I can sale you just email me or pm and I can save you $$$$

The return line empties into the tank, from there, the pick up line grabs the shavings and dumps them into the filter. Anyone know good fuel lift pressure at idle?
Thanks,

No not really you have a screen on your pick up in the tank. You would have to have a heck of a hole at the end to let it threw. The shavings are larger than the screen holes are. You can get dirt particles but not shaving like them in there!

Good lift pressures are from 13 to 15 at an idle
