Mine was made in St. Louis. I said it before but I'll say it again: If your gonna buy Ford, thats fine, but don't buy the 6.0 liter Powerstroke. They are full of problems. Enough problems to cause Ford to sue Navistar (International). Maybe the new 6.4's are better, but I would sure steer clear of the 6.0.

Just like some of the older 5.9's out there with their injection pump problems, (98-02 i believe are most common), the ford 7.3 liter had many problems with injectors. I knew a guy who had a 7.3 and the fuel gelled up in winter, so he dump a bottle of Diesel 911 in the tank and started crankin. After about 30 seconds of crankin, they discovered that the injectors went too long without fuel. A set of injectors for a 7.3 liter power stroke is a hell of a lot more expensive than a VP-44 injection pump. Wanna say it was about $3500 with all 8 of them installed.

Most of the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are built at the Saltillo plant. I would think that 1) there is no UAW union down there and 2) because of that the wages are much lower, thereby saving Chrysler lots of money.

At least the money we buy the trucks with goes to Chrysler in the USA, unlike buying a Jap vehicle where the money goes to Japan.

I agree with all the reasons to buy a cummins. Here is my reason on top of all that, Call me a kid at heart but, the Cummins is THE only diesel in a pickup that sounds GREAT STRAIGHT PIPED!!!! The powerjoke and the duramax sound like they are about ready to fly apart when they are straight piped.
My dad and i are both diehard cummins forever but, if we had to buy somthing else, we both agree we would take a duramax over a powerjoke. BARNONE.
As you see by my signature i own two and im 25yrs old!! I will never have to buy another truck for as long as i live!! I find comfort in knowing that!!

Hope your search goes well and you find the truck of your dreams, I know we all found ours!!!

i had a 99 F-250 PSD had a lot of problems then again it was worn out when i got it but then i got a 06 CTD and love it more power.. pulls better then my ford ever did.. a lot quieter and like i've seen others say a lot more reliable look at the dodge cummins with almost the same 5.9 for years look at ford left the trusted 7.3 to the POS 6.0 and now to the POS 6.4 dodge all the the way in my book

I have 25k on this truck with no tranny issues. Both trucks tow.....alot....the 04 had the Bully Dog pup programmer , this one has the Quad race box.

There are some things that I like above the Dodge , like the interior of the Ford , but as far as exterior , I think the Dodge looks awesome....the Fords not to bad on looks.....but the Chevy GMC stuff is just to "boxy" looking for me.

The only other weak link I can think of in the Dodge is the LP if you start adding fueling mods. The carter LP seems to have a little trouble feeding the rail if you add much fueling.
what do u like better the Bully Dog pup programmer or the Quad race box?

I traded a 2001 psd F350 on my 2006 ctd 3500 and couldnt be happier about the power and the fuel economy I gained! But I lost the ford cab! The ford extended cab is the same size as my dodge crew cab and the bucket seats feal like you are sitting on a sheat of plywood compared to fords seats. As for the power the stock cummins had more balls than either of my fords and my 97 f350 has over $4000 in performance mods under the hood!
