The dodge had to be trailered out because the driver was driving to fast, hit a boulder in the road, busted driver window with hid head went off a 6' embankment and put a tree branch through his a/c condensor and his cooler. Truck still ran to pull itself onto the trailer. All these trucks looked less than a year or two old and my 10 year old oilburner with 245000 miles on it had to pull them out of the hills.
DEAR GOD POST A PIC OF UR BEAST!!!!! You should have taken pics of the other trucks.
Well my 2 cents, i have an 03 Cummins 100,000 miles no transmission problems and yes its the 47re! Which i dont like but hey, it works. The lift pump went out around 70,000. As far as the Dodge thats wrapped around it, no problems. Love the truck!

I owned a 2003 3500 with the 305/555 and thought the tranny was a 48RE. Was there a switch in that model year?

You know what I've been a Ford guy all my life. Here's a list of them;

1. 1964 Mustang convertible(289V8)--Candy Apple Red with white top and white interior. My college ride, had to beat the girls off of it.

2. 1972 Torino(351 Cleveland)--white with orange fade stripes down the side. Very fast.

3. 1988 F250 SC(6.9L diesel/4sp manual))--Blue with twin Captains chairs and two elbow rests on each. 500watt sound system.

4. 1993 E150 Custom Van(blue and white with matching 23ft Sea Ray bowrider)

5. 1998 Ranger Supercab(Big Six) which I still have.

For some reason I never got into the Chrysler or Dodge cars but I always dreamed of owning one like Richard Petty used to race. Now I own the Cummins and am very happy with it.

When they first came out in december of 02 or november-ish they had a standard output and the high output which as far as i know ran untill 04. The 1st ones i guess for just standard output or both had the left over 47re's. I have the build sheet. I really wish i had the 48re!

In your signature it shows as if you're looking to sell it. Can I ask why or what you're looking to replace it with?

My cousin has a 2000 3500 CTD and I read somewhere that there is a gear or somthing on the front of the motor that can come lose and mess things up. Is that true? If it is what is the fix for it. He is pushing about 220k and has put alot of money into it in the past six months or so. I would hate to see him If I could warn him of somthing. Thanks in advance, Dale
