This thread sounds like a bunch of old guys complaining about the evolution of automobiles. Seriously? Do you want to reach all the way over if you want to roll down the passenger window? Maybe we will bring back the old fashion crank start in the front of the truck. I am surprised you guys even have computers. I agree that having tv's and screens everywhere is not really needed, but power door locks and windows? Is that really something to complain about?

Lots more profit on a truck with options and that's where the demand is. Dave Smith is the only dealer I know of that stocks a work truck. Most old guys in my age group suck up all those options. I think it comes down to personal choice.

I've never had anything go wrong with either one of my Dodge trucks. On my 2003 I had the beautiful blue cloth(which Dodge quit offering ) and the Infinity sound system with steering wheel radio controls. I especially miss that feature. I hate taking my eyes off the road to mess with the radio. Another gripe I have is the seat back is not powered. I take my dogs with me a lot too and power windows are a necessity for me and them.

You guys go ahead with your no-frills trucks. I'm too old, I need my amenities!

i think we just get used to all the modern convinces. just like the cell phone. before they were out nobody missed them but now days nobody can hardly go without one. same concept applies to buying a new truck. people dont want old technology stuff in a new vehicle when they know theres a more comfortable option. i have to adjust the power seats and power petals in my truck to get it to feel right but yet in my 93 toyota pick that the seat doesn't even move fits like a glove to me
just my .02
