tryin to learn some more

i saw some pics of some trucks and it looked like the radiator was being blocked from the air. a couple guys had some nice looking stuff covering it and some just zip tied cardboard on (looked like northern trucks) just curious but is this to keep the engine warm in real cold weather?

that is a common practice up here in wisconsin to warm up the motor faster

It also helps to keep the motor warm all day so you stay warm in the cab. I have to do this in the winter to my Freightliner or I freeze!
