I've seen this thread on other forums and it's alway been popular. Sorry if this has been posted before but I searched and didn't see one. Mod's, please move if this isn't in the correct place.
With that said, What have you done to your truck this week?? Btw, pics are a must!!!
Well, i drove home last weekend, noticed i was leaking a sh$t load of oil... the AFC cover was loose fixed that. Then i blew out a brake line... replaced the front to rear on Saturday... still leaking, i replaced the wrong one. So i fixed the real broken line, so now the truck has all new brake lines. Then i got some new tires (Toyo Open Country M/T 315/75/16). Now thats all left to do is replace the wheel bearings and upgrade my clutch, but i'm waiting until summer to do that.
Lets see in the last week what have I done?
3/3 3pm Left norther NY drove Shenandoah IA
3/4 Still driving to Shenandoah IA got in around 5pm 1,226mi
3/5 Coated the truck in mud driving to the jobsite after I had just washed and waxed it not happy
3/6 drove to the jobsite then Drove from Shenandoah to Forest City IA (were the make Winnabago's) 286mi
3/7 Drove from Forest City IA to Omaha NE
3/8 Took brake from driving
3/9 Driving from Omaha Ne to Springfield KY
3/10 Prob still driving to Springfield Ky till about 3am sleep in truck work for about 2 hrs. Then start driving to Johnstown PA. Then get a real motel
3/11 Drive home Ending milage total 3,455mi give or take 200
What I want to do: Get an Edge juice with Att then stop spending money on my truck and actually purchase my Honeymoon. Then after that I wont be able to buy anything for the truck for a couple months.
Saturday I installed some BD diesel 150 injectors. Screwed up a .093 line trying to get it back together. Put a stock line in its place. Drove around for awhile with it smoking white until it warmed up. Decided one or more injector had a problem. So I took it all back apart and removed them and taking them to the shop tomorrow to get tested. I will get some pics when It is going back together. Oh yeah the Fass pump started leaking so I will probably have to get if off of there too.
I totally redesigned my ventilation/ heater doors to use five solenoid valves on two DPST switches and a momentary contact switch, so that I have extra room on my dash for more switches.
I successfully replaced a part that Dodge paid $5 for, with $300 worth of solenoid valves and fittings.
Yesterday, March 11th, my brother and I installed a South Bend Con FE clutch in my G-56 tranny. The book that my brother has to use for all auto mechanics said that it should take about 6 and a half hours. We were able to do it in about 4 and a half hours. Now looking back I am wondering just how much "help" I was. LOL.
