Jim
if you aren't doing boosted launches you should be okay. flexplates and input shafts are easy to install. If you were near by I would help you slap them in
how far can i go as long as i keep away from boosted launchs? im looking at getting a smarty stack eventually. im mech inclinded and have acess to a hoist im just afraid of taclking this big of a job on my own truck, would be nice if it took 8 hours or less as the hoist i would use they would need the hoist back at end of day.
I don't know much about the autos and how strong the input shaft is but I think you should be able to put down around 500 hp on the stock one if you take care of it. Boosted launches are what snap input shafts because you are suddenly allpying all that torque to it from a dead stop.
I think it could be done in under 8 hours no problem especially if you gots a hoist.
