Because there is a rail where the injectors get the fuel from. It is a common rail setup on the 03+ trucks if that makes any sense. I know a lot of people can elaborate it more.
instead of a bunch of lines going form the injection pump to the injector, all of which could conceivably have different pressures. its just one line that goes form the pump to the end of the block. all the injectors are fed off that one rail. its common to them all, hence common rail
