basially it heats up the air being pulled into the engine. If you look under the hood of a cummins on the right side of the motor there is an intake horn, this is where the air comes from the intercooler etc. then entering the engine.At the bottom of the horn theres a grid that heats up when it is less then 55 degrees.
Ya see we have a 6.5L turbo diesel and it has never had problems with glow plugs. So, will the grid heater run continuously when the air temp is less than 55?
