Hi I really want a diesel and I found this diesel on craigslist. You guys know a lot about Cummins and Dodges so would this be a good buy or should I keep saving? What do you think it would need for maintenance if I bought it? It says it has a new tranny...
heres is the link
Hmmm, it's got alot of miles, but not out of the ordinary. Price isn't to bad but I'd wanna look it over good and take it for a test drive before I committed. It says it's got a 5th wheel hitch.....I wonder if a lot of those miles were pulling a trailer??
You'd definately need to look it over and drive it before you handed over the cash, IMO.
Thats exactly my first thoughts 205k miles, has a 5th wheel and said "mainly highway miles" so its probably a tired work horse. honestly id keep lookin
Ya, but is it really worth it to buy a diesel truck with over 200,000 miles.. I know the engines last forever..way longer than the rest of the truck...Do you think its worth the chance to go even look at it because i am about 2 or 3 hours away
yup another ALWAYS comes along and your right a cummins will last 500k if you take care of it. Its just that trucks with that mileage, everything else seems to fail like trans, differentials, pumps, dashes, ect.
