So my friend asked me to move his backhoe this weekend. His truck broke down and hes got a new job site. So anyway, i was wondering if my truck can "safely" handle it. Its about a 50 mile move. The backhoe is a JD 310J and has a operating weight of 13,800. The trailer is a Terry 7 Ton equipment trailer, but i dont know its weight. What do yall think??
your truck will absolutely be on the bump stops if you get any weight on the tongue, other than that, it should pull it all day. Hope you have good trailer brakes.
yeah you should be able to my dads got a 90 f250 and he pulled a backhoe a bit smaller then the one you are and he didnt have a problem so you should be good
I hauled his backhoe earlier today. I gotta say it was awesome, and the truck did great. She didnt squat too much and it did fine pullin. I actually got pulled over on the Thruway. Cop comes up and asks me if i know what i did wrong. I was like no. He said that he got me on laser doin 83 in a 65. I just looked at him and laughed. He finally came to his senses that somethin was wrong because i was haulin a backhoe. He was cool about it and let me go though.
i dont know we had a 32ft livestock with 18 cows and the rest was packed with calf behind a 04 3500 6 speed we got clocked doing 90mph yea fun to stop lol
I'm sure the truck could do it, but i know i wasnt. Plus it was a slight incline, which he realized and thats why he let me go so easy. I'm sure he could of got me for being overweight because my truck isnt registered for that much. Oh well.
