Ok guys im really startin to like the way stacks look on a truck...so just like the title says...what are the advantages of throwin stacks in the bed of my truck??? power, noise, anything??? im thinkin of puttin them but what good comes with them besides looks??
alright so far seems like a good idea..but..will it sound any different than what mine sounds already?? right now my 2nd gen 24 valve is 4" straight piped.and lost the silencer ring.and its loud and sounds mean..
itll be louder. right now your exhaust is pointing away from the truck. with stacks its right behind the cab. Some plastic pieces of the dash and the sunglasses holder on the roof rattle . Thats how loud my truck is with stacks.
yep. stacks are the only way to go. remove your silencer ring also if you havent already and you can really hear the turbo work. It sounds nutz. Like a semi. It definatly makes it loud. and the black smoke straight up looks wicked.
Well they are really loud on a 2nd gen and if you pick the right stack/stacks it looks really good.
Only downside to me was the black soot all over the truck and if you have a sliding rear window; keep it closed while rolling the coal..I have heard horror stories of guys sooting up the inside of their cabs . I had a single 7" mitre for a while and just installed a 5" TB back on my truck today. The soot all over everything was getting to me. But don't get me wrong, stacks look and sound very good

I love my stack/stacks. I say that because I have had dual stacks so to speak, a single stack at the edge of the bed and a single stack just off center in my truck. The only thing I dont like is all the soot paratroopers that land on it all the time. Does not help I have a white truck. Here is a pic of my current setup.
youd have to be in one heck of a rain storm to fill those stacks up before you drove it . And if its raining that hard its probably not that cold. I use 1 gallon ice cream buckets. they work great. No black soot on the roofarty018:
The disadvantages are very loud inside the cab, blows black stuff all over your truck if it rains, and you cant really put anything in the back of your truck because it will be black. The advantage is it looks good when smoke comes out of it.The smoke will hit the persons windshield behind u if they are riding your bumper
jus rollin coal all over other drivers that make you angry makes it worth every penny.
