Im Bummed Have A 99 Dodge With A Stress Crack On Block

Has Anyone Else Heard That The 99 Models Alot When Built Had A Slight Weak Spot On Passenger Side Block By The Freeze Plugs? I Was Told That Alot Of 99 Models Did This! I Guess Im Going To Have It Welded Then Maybe That Might Fix The Reasons For Why I Have No Heater. Do You Think It Has Anything To Do With The Crack In Block? Even When I Make Sure To Add Water Heater Still Want Work. Thanks For Help And Info.:rantin:

Keep looking for posts about the 53 Block, there is quite a few on here. There is also many CF members with them so your not alone. There was just a poll recently with how many guys had the 53 block. You came to a good place for help. Good luck!

Lot of 99's and some 00 and a spoon full of 01's I believe had this 53 block! They were a weak casting and tend to crack....thus leaking!! I am not too sure there is a fix other than hoping it ain't or don't crack!....

yes there is fixes for them, it's best to catch the crack early before it goes from the fron all the way to the back of the block, but keep searching 53 block, there is alot of people who have had them stitched
