I used the think that modding a diesel was cheaper and better than a gas... Now I'm starting to think that a gas is almost cheaper considering that it's also way lighter and doesn't take as much power to make it go. A diesel you can still use to work, but I don't know how much work I'll actually be doing. I would like to hear some people's thoughts about this.

We work 12HR. days so searching on the internet isn't always available, so mailed catalogs are preferred. Anything would be helpfull.Thanks.

Would anyone be willing to sell a 1/2 ton 4X4 converted to diesel?
I just recently found-out that my H.O.A. does not allow any trucks or vans over the 1/2 ton class! This really ROTS!

Head Bolt Re-Torque Info

The purpose of this thread is to gather info on re-torquing the factory head bolts. It seems that there are a lot of people asking about this lately (including myself). Given, I haven't done this personally, here is the information I have gathered from a few other guys on this forum. mathews8pt helped me out on most of this on another thread. I also have a few questions.
-threads are M12x1.75

-DOES EACH ROCKER ARM HAVE TO BE REMOVED OR JUST CERTAIN ONES?????

-remove each bolt one at a time

-bottom tap the block

-clean threads on each bolt

-oil threads and underneath head of bolt with 10W-30 or lube of your choice

-re-torque to 100ft-lbs

***wait an hour+ between each re-torque***

-torque in 5ft-lbs increments up to 125ft-lbs or more if you're brave.

***if the bolt starts to feel buttery and not tightening, it means that the bolt is stretching too much*** (correct??)

here is the torque sequence

Ford/GM Deletes

I thought I'd ask. Now that I'm familiar with the Cummins DPF and EGR Cooler deletes, I'm curious about the Powerstroke's and Duramax's ways of deleting their emissions equipment.

Is it more involved than the Cummins? Easier, cheaper, more parts, less parts? Any ideas would be great!

I have only seen a few Powerstrokes with aftermarket tailpipes, which is a giveaway, and no Duramaxes, at least that I've really been paying attention to. The 6.7s are always a giveaway when the truck has stacks but since the tailpipe is nothing special, there are probably more than usual.
