My truck is ill, it won't start, it just cranks and cranks, it ran fine on the wayti work this morning then when I got out it wouldn't start.
I pulled the line off the injection pump and it's getting plenty of fuel from the lift pump. Pulled the line off the injection pump that feeds the rail and there is plenty of fuel coming out of that. Even tried a shot of starting fluid and it won't fire. No codes are thrown either.

Any ideas on what could be going on or what I should check next?

Transmission - Jerky Feeling Going into Second

I changed the transmission fluid in my truck and adjusted the kick-down bands as recommend by the maintenance manual when you change the fluid since one is inside the pan....

A few days after, I noticed the truck is jerky going into second at slow acceleration rates (1300-1500 RPM's). At a more 'normal' acceleration rate (1600+ RPM's) it seems to shift okay into second.

There are no other noticeable shifting issues in any gears up or down. I readjusted the front kick down band (outside one-the inside one is the reverse band) to see if I may have not got it just right and checked the fluid again and seemed to be a little low so I topped it off.

It seems like it may have improved slightly after the re-adjustment, but not completely sure - definitely not near a complete improvement though.

Anyone have a similar problem??? Or a trans expert out there? Is the band super sensitive; is it possible I still don't have it quite right?

What do you guys think of the DTT shift enhancer and I was thinking of getting the valve body to. My truck is basically stock but will add Smarty Jr soon. Is this a decent upgrade for now?

I posted a question about the turbo power or lack there of. No codes and still clueless. In the same post I included this information, Have the option to buy an 05 2500 LWB 6speed with about 130k miles for 7k. It needs a little maintenance work, but seems to be a solid truck.(shocks, clutch in the near future) Have receipts showing work from original owner. Trucks has never had any mods, not even a brake controller.

I've spent the last 2 days on this forum searching etc trying to find out common problems and anything to be forewarned about. EVERYTHING IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE TRUCKS and now I am just plain confused. It appears I may be dealing with a ticking time bomb. Maintenance was done on this truck every 3k miles. Fuel filter every 10k miles, oil every 3k, air every 6k-10k anything that broke was fixed at the dealer. New ac and blend doors, u-joints rearend seals, 2 fronts hubs, tie rods, etc. No super duper filters were used, rotella oil. After it warms up the awful smell that is tied back to diesel ownership is ever present. It has slight white smoke at start-up in the morning, slight smoke out of the oil filler, no smoke or drips underneath. Truck towed an airboat 2 times and never towed anything else.

Someone could make at least $10 if they captured all the opinions and truths on this board and consolidated them into a book with a funny context. :lol4:

I digress to a comment made in my original post, I know nothing about diesels.

Thanks

My Truck Seems To Acceleration Poorly At Wide Open Throttle, But If I Slowly Bring Gas Pedal To W.o.t. Is Accelerates Better. I Can Get From 40 Mph To 80 Mph Fast If I Slowly Give The Truck Gas. I Dont Have Gauges On The The Truck Yet, So I Dont Know What Boost Is At. And I Know There Is Some Turbo Lag, But It Feels Like It Never Kicks In. Theres No Miss Firing And I Dont Bog Down,,,just Accels Poorly. Anyone Have This?

*P0148 is fuel delivery error

Wife was driving the truck this morning and while on the highway with the cruise on, the truck would rev up and down a lot. She was trying to stop on the off ramp and it reved really high and she couldn't stop. So she shut the truck off and barely stopped in time. Restarted the truck and it acted ok. Then driving a little further it did the same rev up and down issue.

Any suggestions on where to start to fix this problem?

i have an 04 5.9l dodge dually and the water pump went out at 60k miles so i took it to the dealer because i had a 100k mile warranty, they fixed the waterpump but come to find out, left a pry bar in between the trans. cooler and radiator which bounced around and put a hole in my radiator, so i take it to radiators unlimited in tomball, tx. and put a new radiator in the truck, this idiot doesnt tighten anything up, all the nuts have come off the fan shroud and pulling out of the driveway the truck is making a whining noise so i pull back in and he says the fan clutch is going out, so i'm thinking o-k just bad timing. since this company worked on my truck, just driving it home maybe 25 miles the fan clutch is out, the batteries keep draining so i have to charge the batteries just to move it, the intake on the turbo came off, one of the pullies is loose and ate up my serp. belt which was replaced 3500 miles ago. this has been the best truck i have ever owned and all of this started because of the pry bar that was left from the mechaic at baytown dodge. does anyone have an idea of what would cause the fan clutch and the batteries to drain down. thanks, russell.

2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie for sale with 354,000 miles on it. It's a HO 5.9L with a 6 speed behind it. They dealer said its all highway miles, and I believe that to see that there are so many miles on such a new truck. The body is straight, no visible scratches even, spray in bedliner, and the tow package looked like it hadnt even been used.

They are asking $11,900.
Is this to good to be true?

Kbb values te truck at $20,000 so Im willing to accept that there are $8,000 worth of stuff possibly wrong with it, but even if I had to replace the transmission then I wouldnt be out that much. Im sure that Cummins is just broken in though! :)

Any answers would help!

Hey guys got a quick question. I have an 03' with about 120,000 miles, I have got to the point of miles that drivetrain maintence has become an issue. I just replaced the passenger side hub assy. it was starting to make a squeaking noise when turning so I figured it was time. After I did this my next trip to the beach I needed to take my truck out on the beach, I got on the sand put it in 4-low and eased out on the beach started to spin a bit so I got on it a bit and then was the problem....I heard a bang sounded like it came frome driver side hub. I stopped and proceeded to turn around and get off the sand. It made this banging noise a couple more times in forward, but did not in reverse. My question is anyone ever heard of the splines on the stub shaft and the hub assy. getting work and slipping? I have not torn this apart yet to find out. I had to drive 300 miles home with it like this and it has been fine the little I have had to drive it (not a daily driver anymore). anyone have an idea if this could be something different? also what is the standard front end in an 03' 2500 dana 60? where is a good place to get a replacement stub shaft?

thanks for the input, this forum is top notch....
