Hey guys, i had a parrot bluetooth system installed in my dash bezel in the opposite hole that the "4x4" swithch was in, it used to be a little storage box. I tossed it when i installed the parrot and then tossed the parrot so now i have a hole in my Dash bezel! :banghead:.

Anyone have an extra one of these or know of something i can put in there?? The hole sucks! I am willing to pay for both the storage box and shipping.

Thanks,
Dan

So, I was under the truck, changing the shocks cuz the current ones felt a little wallowy but not blown. Then I swapped the pitman arm and as we were torquing the 33mm nut, fluid oozed out the steering shaft end. Then when we started it to check for play, it was litterally drizzling down The steering box. I suspect the box needs resealed but I also have fluid sprayed on my hood liner, intake horn, ps lines, boost tube, brake master resivoir and even spatter on the rockerboxes!! Do I have a bad pressurized leak or is the engine fanwash catching the ps fluid and blasting it everywhere? I can't find any fluid shootin out from the lines or connections so idk...

New batteries, dead truck.

Well, I'm guessing there's a simple solution to my problem. The batteries that came with my truck (recently purchased '96 2WD) didn't seem to be holding a charge. They were a little weak in starting the motor. After the truck had sit for a few days without being started, they were pretty much dead.

Anyway, I pulled them out to be charged/tested. They had originally come from Wal-Mart, so I took them back there as they were still under (a pro-rated) warranty. After they tested them, the report showed that they both had a bad cell. Oddly enough, every battery I've had tested there showed a bad cell. Regardless, I got two brand new heavy-duty batteries (the right size this time). I put them in the truck, but I have a feeling that there is something more that I need to do. I turn the ignition on and nothing happens. It's as though there aren't even any batteries in it! Is there a relay or switch somewhere that opens when the batteries are removed? My Haynes manual didn't mention anything. The batteries both show 12.8 volts. Did I overlook something? Everything is hooked up correctly (kind of hard to screw it up). If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thank you for taking time to read through this.

Instrument cluster Wrong Numbers Help

So I have a question on my instrument cluster. All my gauges seem correct except my engine temp and oil pressure. My engine temp starts at 60 in the middle goes to 90 and then gets into the red at 110 I know this is wrong. My oil pressure starts at 0 middle is 275 then tops out at 760. I know the gauges are right because the symbols are correct. Any Idea as to why they are like this would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help. Ryan

I've changed these on Ford Heavy Duty and Super Duty's before but this will be my first Dodge truck. Its a 1996 2500 4x4. I need to know what are the best ball joints for a DIY guy to install as well as tie rods. I just bought the truck with 220,000 on the clock and the front end has not been rebuilt in quite some time.

What else should i replace while i have it apart?

What tools will i need?

How hard is it compared to a Ford truck?

Brands?

This front end is all new to me so any help will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

janky EGt probe install

so i want to move my EGT probe from post turbo to pre turbo and i was thinking just pull the manifold, drill and tap but the nuts that hold the turbo to the manifold are really rusted and most likely welded (don't think the previous owner knew what anti-seize was) on there. I dont want to pull the turbo with the manifold but if it comes down to it i will. I definitely don't want to drill with a greased drill bit with everything still on the truck, dont want to take the chance of destroying my turbo.

so my question is since i have a three piece manifold could i just unbolt the rear piece (that vents #6 and #5 cylinders) take it out of the truck drill and tap the probe in that part of the manifold. Since #6 is not vented as well as the other cylinders i figure having the probe in that part of the manifold would give me the highest temps compared to the other cylinders. Which would be a good thing in my mind knowing the hottest part of the engine and hopefully not melting anything, especially #6

good idea? bad idea? stupid idea?
