My overflow tank is bubbling non-stop while truck is running and for 10 min after I shut it off. It’s not blowing coolant out or over-heating, but I’m still worried that this is not normal. My first question is has anyone had this happen and could I just maybe buy the better bolts and replace one at a time to get better torque on the head?? Second question is could all these failures be linked to the egr deletes??? It seems to be the only common denominator.:confused013:

Ok I ran at the track last night(1/8 mile)
my buddy let me use his smarty with the latest biggest baddest tune loaded on it and my fastest run was 9.7 @ 70mph

then I loaded the XRT hot dam 175 ATT
and ran 9.5 @ 74mph

I made 3 passes with each tuner and times were all very consistant...

Not talkin $hit in any means just wanted to post what I ran

I am doing the smarty on 2 units this weekend along with the EGR delete, but I forgot what all needs to be unpluged. It was on here somewere, but have had no luck finding it.

Thanks guys,

3) EGT Sensors
1) Plug on the tranny?
2) Pressure lines
1) EGR
1) Plug that is hard to get to on the intake

Am I missing anything?

EGR thoughts

I have been reading alot of these threads about the EGR and people wondering if it acts as a waste gate. When I get my block off plates made I am going to try a little experiment. Block the EGR ports on the intake but leave the EGR hooked to the crossover pipe leaving the ports on the EGR open and see what happens. It wont take long to tell.
If it is acting as a waste gate it is dumping hot air with little to no oxygen into the intake thus reducing the amount of useable boost from the turbo. Air molecules increase in size when heated so there are more air molecules in 30 PSI of cool air than 30 PSI of super hot air. To compensate for this you would need to use a bigger more efficiant turbo. When you remove the EGR, even though the boost pressures are the same the air is cooler and more air molecules are intering the combustion chamber...... More air molecules....no waste gate........ better combustion......timing adjustments........increased head pressure.........less HG surface area.....HG failure. I may be way off but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last. night.

Here is a little info for those that will be removing there head for gasket replacement. If you plan on making big horse power save yourself some headache and have the freeze plugs in the head tapped and plugged.Under high rpms and extreme egts the cast head will expand enough to blow a freeze plug. This happened to me yesterday in a top end 70 to 145 run with a cobra mustang.I made a call to a friend that at the time i was unaware that he had already experienced this with there 6.7 before. No doubt this could have been eliminated because egts were 2000deg for to long.I have run my truck very hard and never had this issue before, so for most i would say not to worry about this,But for the others that find there self in the red and will not get out until the checkered flag,(PLUG THEM)or i will be reading your post in the future about how you think you may have blown your engine.
