I got my EFI live in the mail yesterday and need to get the truck running again but I'm not sure how to download it from the autocal. When I plug it in, I can scroll through a list and the only thing that says anything is "read 1 CMC" and everything else like "read 2, prog 1" etc all say not N/A. There should be three tunes, mpg, towing and performance on the autocal but I dont see them. I downloaded the "read 1 CMC" but I have a check engine light, so Im not sure that is right.
Any help would be appreciated as I got to get it running before I go to work in the am.
Did you get tunes to load into the autocal? If so then you need the EFI live software. Once you have that loaded and plug in the autocal, be sure to turn on the key in the truck. Not start just run. Then scroll to the name of the tune in one of the three positions called tune. Press OK or whatever enter is. The first time you use it to tune the Autocal will ask if you want to lock it to that truck. You enter again and it locks. Then you can load the tune. At the end you turn off the key at the prompt and wait about ten seconds as the autocal counts down.
I think I have that about right.
I got mine from Dave Matthews and he sent me Zach's primer. I would quote that exactly here but I think it best to protect Zach's work.

Talk to your tuner. Most would send you instructions on what to do. Asking here is difficult to answer because we don't know exactly what your tuner has done. Did they pre-load and not base off your stock file, or are they waiting for you to read your stock file and email it to them to create your tunes? There are many possibilities and from experience each tuner has their own way of delivering their product
Im waiting for him to call me back. The tunes were loaded to the autocal so I thought they would be easy to find on it. Ill just have to wait to hear back.

Sorry bud. This is my fault entirely. A little failed communication and being hammered. Didn't get a chance to get to my cell phone or computer till later in the day. Which isn't something I'm used to. let us know how you like the tunes though. I shot em to you a couple hours ago...
Thanks Dave! So far, I have just used the race tune on a shot trip and could notice a big difference. I got on to the same on ramp to the HWY and it seemed like I more power with less boost? I could see how that would save fuel. Im usually at 12-13psi and now at 9psi, driving how I usually do. I dont hammer it too much but did also the truck runs smoother with no black smoke. More throttle response as well. I cant wait to drive it more! Thanks again Dave! I
Same sort of experience with AutoCal EFI live coming off an XRT. For us it is towing that is important. Less boost for more useable power. lower temperatures, better fuel economy and a quieter running engine. Never had smoke and still don't.
Thanks to Dave and Zach.

Thought I would give my thoughts now that I had EFI Live on the truck for about a week....well, I freaking love EFI live and matched with the H&S trans tune, the truck feels like a rocket! I am consistently making more power with less boost than I did with the smarty, which I think is saving me some fuel. I have not hand calculated mileage yet though. The truck sounds a lot better and the exhaust has a deeper tone. Thanks to Dave and H&S for great tunes! I wish I would have done this sooner!

Glad to hear it. Let me know if there's anything you don't like, and of course what your mileage is.
