Took the edge off today.

Woke up yesterday to head out and the truck wouldnt rev past 2k rpm......hmmmmm. Buddy of mine said his did the same thing till he took the edge off. I took the edge off and the truck runs fine, what up with that???? Im gonna call monday about it, but up till now edge customer service hasnt been that great. Prior to this I called edge about my unit because it would give me an alert beep at random times for no reason, and the screen would just go to a bunch of bars like a bar code for a few seconds. Edge said it was normal.........soooo well see.

Ive called them a few times but I think I get the same guy every time and he really never seems to be interested in my story...thats just my luck though. I still dont think its "normal" for the attitude monitor to spaz out like that. Im gonna call them again.

Isnt there an Edge rep on the site here, Id like to see what he thinks.

bkjeffrey,

When you get the new module, if you have any problems with it please call me ASAP. My ext. is 187 and I will definately do what i can to help you out! Sounds like to me there is something wrong with the monitor? Hopefully the new one works good, but if it doesnt call me when you are near your truck and we'll trouble shoot the problem.
Thanks man!

-Jerry

Hey Jerry, thanks. I got the new edge in, its version 7.2, versus the old one that was 7.1. I dont know what the diff is between them. The new one doesnt seem to make as much power as the last one, but it smokes a good bit more.

Now, its been installed for about 3 weeks now and Im having a few issues with it.

At random times the alarm will go off, last time it did it it said EGT alert 312*. Was it warning me that my egts are too low??????

That, and often the display will go blank for a second then come back on with the introduction screen that you normally get when first starting the truck. It does this during normal operation while driving.

I would think that if the Edge shut off during vehicle operation that it would default the factory computer back to stock mode.

What should I do Jerry?

So whats the news? I've had nothing but problems with my Edge. 1st was the A2 montor screen was so blurred I couldnt see a thing. next was my gps not working and now the latest problem is my turbo timer was staying on all the time. Wouldnt let my truck shut off. I'd have to pull the wire off the fuse to shut the truck off. Shipping is really adding up sending my stuff back to them. I'm gonna give em 1 more chance when I get mine back.
