Edge and Fingerprints????

Does the Edge w attitude leave a fingerprint? Or is it something that once it is taken off there is no trace that you ever had a programer on your truck?

Edge leaves a fingerprint on the wire when you tap it to make the most power. Only way to hide this is with a stealth cover that some companies sell.

If it is on a 2003 up Cummins, there is no wire to tap. You might have to explain the probe in the manifold

Since the edge is a module and plugs in under the hood it doesnt effect or even deal with the stock computer. It changes the voltage being sent and received. Only the ones the plug into the obd port leaves fingerprints because they erase the key cycles. So as long as you have an egt gauge to cover up why there is a egt probe in your manifold youll get away scott free. I talked to edge about this around 7 months ago. So im just passin what i was told

Do you think that they would be wierd about it if i left the attitude monitor in, but took the edge module out? And then just told them i used to the monitor for guages? or will the monitor not work without the module?

The monitor will not get power unless its hooked to the module. But would could just tell them you think it blew a fuse or its not working propertly.

Just so you know the only thing the EGT probe will effect when it comes to a warranty issue is if your exhaust manifold were to crack. Anything else would be pure speculation on the dealerships part............................heck even they are drilling holes in the turbos now on the truck which has got to make you wonder if soot is bad wouldn't metal filings be worse?

Probably just me living in my fantasy world of reality.
