I've got subscription to Diesel Power and Petersons 4 Wheel Offroad. Petersons was building an '06 4x4 issue by issue that was pretty cool but really I'm not very impressed with either one and gonna drop em both when the subscriptions run out. I've learned far more about my truck and the pros/cons of products available for it on this forum and others than I ever could in 10 years worth of magazine reading. Most of the Diesel magazines seem to be all about glamour. I've picked up a few off the rack with these really tricked out trucks but they'd have technical errors in the articles or captions that even a relative novice like me could spot. Who wants to read writeups by people that don't even know what the heck they're looking at? And I agree they all seem to take the same show queen trucks and pass them around to one another to do photoshoots and writeups. I can't say enough about all the nice people on these forums sharing information and such. When I think back 15 years ago before I had internet and all there really was to be had was a "Truckin" mag it's just a world of difference and much more for the better imo. I'm sure its good for a multgazillion dollar aftermarket industry too somehow I think forums like this are the future.

TDR and Diesel Power here. I do read the TDR cover to cover and glance through Diesel Power. The Diesel Power usually winds up on my drilling rig where the younger guys seem to enjoy it. Ed B

Since finding out about forums like this one I don't have a need to read it in a mag when you can find most of the answers here!

I have bought some off the shelf, and I agree...too many over priced show trucks. I want to see them working for a living. That is what the Dodge is made for. Get it dirty, clean it up, repeat.
