I don't want to get things stirred up, but all 2002s are made in Mexico. 2001s (quad cabs only) are assembled in the US. One of my conditions for buying a truck is the VIN number start with a 1. That is, it be assembled in the US.

BTW I'm kinda pissed off, the tag on the '98 12V motor said "Made it the USA". The tag on the '01 engine says "assembled in the USA" with a Mexican block.

I have nothing against Mexicans, and I'm not saying trucks assembled in the US are any better than those assembled in Mexico. I'm just pointing out and interesting difference between years.

I own a 1996 but it's smashed up pretty good. I bought it for parts for my Chevy/Cummins conversion
