I'm currently running a Banks Ottomind 149 HP box. I've been thinking about stacking a Smarty on that. But next week I'll be doing some Beta Testing for Quadzilla. So anything can happen at this point.............

First-gens do it with screwdrivers & wrenches
NO disrespect but any 3rd gen would smoke a 1st gen with just a BOX! Sorry a wrench cant add 12 more valves, common rail injection, and multitask fuel injectors. Ill give you some credit, your trucks sound way more nuts than any 3rd gen.

Few, if any, of us want to compete with a modified third-gen. I just want to improve what I have to suit my (perceived) needs. I think I'm almost there.

I now have reasonable towing power without affecting reliability. My fuel mileage is still good at around 20 on the road, 17 in town, 12 towing the 5er. The truck gets nice comments from folks, mainly of the variety "wish I still had mine". Just plain fun. With screwdrivers & wrenches.

Regards, DBF

I love first gen trucks. I was sad when the '93 I had drove away with my sister at the wheel, but she's taking good care of it and needed something to pull her horse trailer. I, of course, still have my '02. But man, when I see a nice clean first gen, I stop and look/drool. There's just something about those old mules.

Yah, but no single pump will fuel like a P-pump will! Too bad I have a VP44, can't do either Can't run two at once and can't fuel to infinity....
