Check for power coming out of the stock harness. Make sure you are not getting a signal from the ECM. If no power, check the relay and make sure its not stuck. That can happen every once and a while. You can check it with a relay out of the fuse box. If you are getting power from the ECM when the key is cracked.....you might have issues beyond what i can help you with!! haha.... This is a weird one......but i would think that the relay is stuck on...that is my guess right now...... EDIT.....DUAH...if the relay stuck....it would run all the time........haha...next day after some sleep.... Last edited by Diesel-Dan : 05-09-2006 at 06:54 AM. |

I just remembered....There is a TSB out for the 03's that involves a re-flash that keeps the lift pump running at key on. It is suppose to fix the hard starts that the 03/04 guys were seeing once they had the in-tank lift pump retrofit done. I guess the usual 2 seconds of run time wasn't enough to get fuel to the CP3 when the pump was located at the rear of the truck. I had the re-flash done to my truck and really liked it. During the winter when I used my autostart, it kept the lift pump running during the 20 seconds or so delay my auto start had for the grid heater. It didn't run "forever" though. Eventually it would cut off. Since it is a software re-flash, the latest BullyDog software may have it incorporated. On edit: TSB 18-017-05, Flash: Long Crank Times

Well its definatly getting the signal to run from the ecm since the relay is hooked direct to the battery per instructions, I had heard of that tsb but found no sticker indicating it had been done on the truck.....................this all makes sense now cuz before i installed the BDDL I primed the FASS and got that all lookin good and at the time the key on made the pump run for the 5 seconds and a bump gave it the 25 seconds, then I did the BDDL and the pump runs all the time with key on so the program must be in the downloader........magic thanks for the info men I get more impressed every day! |
