His pump is triggered off the fuse box and yours is ran by the ECM. D-max trucks have no lift pump circut, per se, to trigger off of.

I wouldn't worry about it. If the pump runs when the engine comes on, its doing its thing. I would check the ECM trigger on the relay plug. Bump the engine and see if the pump will run.

You might have other issue going on there....might start checking fuses.

I think my relay is bad, and its almost like it is not big enough to handle the current going through it. How do I go about getting a new one from FASS? Is that covered under the warranty?

thanks,
We might check what amperage our pump is pulling. BUT if you had a loose connection at the relay plug, that could cause the overheating situation as well.

Fass 150/150

Does the relay need to be mounted to metal so it's grounded? Or can it be mounted to a non grounded surface? I would like to tuck it and the wiring up and out of the way.

Question 2. I have an Isspro mechanical gauge with copper tube from the Injection pump to the gauge ( I have a Needle valve) I run about 13 - 14 pounds at idle, 10 on the highway and I can get it down to 6 or 7 pounds at WOT. So thats good enough but not much margin. My Carter was 10 11 pound at idle, 7 drving around and 3 to at WOT. Could my gauge be reading low? The pump is fairly quiet and I installed a vulcan draw straw when I installed the Fass.

Relay doesnt need a gnd, its supplied when you hook up to the Batt with the Green wire.

I always suggest checking your gauge. Especally since you have used a way most dont use. Try running with the needle valve wide open. See what that does. ALSO might bleed any air in the line as well. Larger diameter line will hold more air and cause gauge error.

UM....not really. It they were set to a certian length. BUT they are mild steel so you can weld to them if needed. OR get another tube cut and tapped.

[quote=Diesel-Dan;826516]Relay doesnt need a gnd, its supplied when you hook up to the Batt with the Green wire./QUOTE] <- I screwed up something here

Hi Dan,
I bought my Fass used so I don't know if my wires are correct, but off the relay I have 2 green wires. One goes to the truck harness where the carter hooked up and the other runs down to the Fass. Am I missing a third green wire to go to ground? It looks like there is a space in the center of the relay connection where it could go.

Thanks for your help, You da Man Dan

Talking 95 install questions

Hey guys,

Well I installed for 10 hours the other day with the directions that dont exactly relate to "MY" truck.. nonetheless I kinda figured things out with basic knowledge of things...

Anyhow, a few last things remain...

1.) I have the stock wiring harness plugged into the stock in-tank lift pump. Should there be a cut wire or something to STOP the stock lift pump from working, YET continue to give me a read on fuel level in tank???

2.) What exact fuse should I be tapping into? I tapped into the ACC , IGN power fuse (20amp) and well, because I have the edge turbo timer thing.. all runs until engine shuts off but fass95 continues to run until front doors are open.. (it keeps the acc powered until doors open, so I worry that the pump could run with the acc powered for like 10 minutes.) (no need to excessively run and recirc fuel into return if it can be helped) right(?)

Thanks for the help!

and yes I notice a smoother get up and go, idle, etc.. good stuff!!!
