UM...you might have more luck posting this outside of our DPP forum. This is more for FASS related questions. Ill ask an admin to move it for ya for more exposure.

This in a Sprinter? Liberty? Most new diesels need a brake in period before fuel mileage goes to the sweet spot. Magic number seems to be 15,000 miles to 25,000 miles.

Also, some dealer reflashes have been known to reduce mileage. BUT I would feel that there would be a lot of complaints that they would make a change….best to keep an ear to the gnd to see if they ever come up with any new reflashes pertaining to mileage. I know the Cummins had one or two for the 600’s if I recall correctly.

You might also want to locate a Blue Tec specific forum…don’t know if you will have much luck in a Cummins Forum with questions about your engine. Not that we are not happy you are here...its just that most here have a 5.9 or 6.7 Cummins.

Dan thanks for the links. I am going to try to tap into the location you said was on the pump. I have the 150/150 hpfp. In the other thread itr#1446 i believe, i told him i blew air into pick up line. What i did was unscrewed the line inback of pump(thought its the suction line) that leads to the top of fuel tank, blew compressed air thru it and could see a diesel mist coming out of tank(cap off) and my truck has not cut out since. And the fass pump is not as eratic as it was(doesnt cycle up or down much) and i can pretty much keep a constint psi on on icp gauge on pmt(23k+ at full throttle). What ever i did it worked i guess. Is that the pickup line and does it have a sock on it. Should i drop tank to have a better look? Im new to diesels but i dont think my truck is runnin as good as it should but, any suggestions would help. Thanks
P.S. It cuts out whenever it wants to(sometimes its fine and cuts out then it doesent).I havent had a chance to install fp gauge do to the fact that i am at work(been here 3weeks and hopefully be done in a few days) installing it as soon as i can. Thanks

A FP Gauge would greatly help us out here. This will let us know exactly what is going on and when the pump is running. Your unit has a few years on it from the SN you gave me....might check all the connections for corrosion...and check the relay connections as well..

WELL when air is being built up in the Water Separator...it will get to a point where it will over come the bottom of the separator nipple and get sucked into the pump....(YES i typed that with a smirk on my face! ). When this air hits the gear, it will make a "Gurgling" sound with intermittent frequency. This is normal.

ALSO when the grid heaters cycle...this will cause a voltage drop and the pump RPM's might slow slightly. This is normal as well.....as i see you are in NJ...and i would imagine its been on the cool side as of late?
