Tar, ding paint from parking lots buffing??

I'm not refering to the dodge here... but my other truck, (98 Ford Ranger, step side, short wheel base 5spd manual) has got tar and beat marks all over it. This is my work truck, gas saver... but it sees fence posts (green on the tailgate) and other odds and ends, btw... my gf" likes to ding cars at Wal-Mart and every where else so the doors are rainbow colored _when we're out the dodge parks all alone, far away so calm down_

The paint is chipping around the rear fenders (a new bed is the only fix for this) so paying to have it clayed or doing that myself is not cost effective or thesible. by chips I mean the fiberglass is cracking, which saddens me but it would cost more than the truck is really worth.

I've got a buffer and waxer... but I'm not sure the best way to take this stuff off my paint without eating the paint or just waxing it under a coat. Any advice would be appreciated, I did look through the detailing threads but I've been out of the CF loop for a couple months.

she thinks I like getting the car door for her... I just don't like her hitting stuff, I swear, super sweet girl... she even did it in my Camaro to my moms car on mothers day!!! red on white.
but alas what can you do.
I'm mostly concerned about the black tar like substance on my white truck!!! how do I get that off? step-dad said bug and tar remover or paint thinner and lots of rags....
my last option is to call the clay bar guy and see if I can get a deal if I get it on all my vehicles.... (but he'd want me to pay him, stupid money!!!)

I would say use the clay. It takes forever to do the entire vehicle so what I have started doing is using it to get areas that are really bad or spots I cannot wash off.
Just hit the spots that need it that way you are not spending a lifetime on the whole truck.

Wash, tar remover, then clay.

First of all ... claying an entire vehicle does NOT take forever. I just did my good buddys 2002 Club Cab Short Bed (washed, clayed *tons of rubber/tar*, waxed, polished wheels, dressed all plastic & moldings etc.) in about 5 hours.

You can get a clay kit made by mothers or megs at walmart, advanced auto, etc.
