wet sanding

I am about to buy a dodge diesel truck. The guy had it repainted and the guy that did it screwed him over. The paint is kinda on the poor side. It has been about 6 months since it was painted. I was wondering if I lightly wet sanded it, if it would improve its appearance? Does anybody have any wet sanding experience?

I have plenty of wetsanding and polishing experience. It all depends on how much clear is on it to begin with. I do show paint. 6 coats of clear then wetsand with 600 then 1200 then 2500 and final with 3000 then polish. My paint looks like glass.

The finish looks GREAT! But the color... Definitely makes you stand out!

farmboy tou'll have to take it to a local paint supllier and have them put a mil guage on i to see if you have enough clear there to wet sand and polish, anything under 6 total mills and i'd be real careful if you do it.

I just paint bikes and golf carts. Nobody wants to pay for a decent job these days.

Here is my van I did in November 1983 when it was just off the line. These pics were taken last summer.

And a bike I did this winter

And another bike from this winter

And a couple of golf carts I did

And some of my toys from 2 years ago
