I have had it with the swirl marks i wash the truck once a week and have them wax it with 100% carnuba wax what the hell also i dont dry the truck with a shammy or a towel i use a blower so nothing touches the paint. i also use micro towels for the wax on wax off process what give how do i get the swirl marks to hide at least.

Dark colors, especially black, really show swirl marks. There is an excellent sticky above on how to wash your truck and what gear to use. Swirl marks can be put into the paint when washing improperly just one time. Who is waxing your truck? And how are they waxing it? I have seen several "detail shops" that I would not let wash my riding lawn mower. The only way to get the swirls out is to polish them out.

I would definitely suggest you use the 2 bucket wash method outlined in the sticky by smokindiesel. I use sheepskin mitts. They do not last as long as some other mitts but can be bought locally. To get the swirls out will take some polishing. Use will need a polisher. There is another thread ongoing that has a link to a good deal on a UDM bundled with polishing pads. With darker color paint washing technique is crucial in preventing swirl mark.

Turtle wax makes a product, it comes in a black bottle, I can't remember the name of it. But, essentially its a colored wax. I used to use it on my 2001, wax with that and then do your carnuba, or just the turtle wax, it will look great! it's just that extra step takes a while. and make sure to use microfiber cloths that are going to be designated for that wax bc that stuff DOES NOT wash out...

Buy a product called Zaino Pro #5. You can get it here: Zaino Store I nearly always tend to buy dark colored cars (except for this silver truck), and I can tell you swirl marks are a PITA. Zaino products are nearly perfect as far as I can tell. My black Volkswagen looks like liquid glass when I'm finished. I have spent a LOT of time applying applying carnuba waxes, and have decided it's a waste of time. I believe it actually makes the swirl marks pop out even more a few weeks after it's applied. The Zaino products are the best I've ever used, and I've tried nearly everything. They are a bit more expensive in the beginning, but you actually use less of the product. Best of all my black VW & the wife's midnight blue Odyssey still look great 6 months after the zaino is applied. Water still beads up very nicely too. I doubt you'd be disappointed with the result. I've come to the conclusion that there is nothing I will use on my vehicles that is sold in Wal-Mart or some discount auto parts place

I have never seen Zaino cover any swirl marks. Zaino is a fine sealant that lasts a long time. It is not the easiest product to apply. It does look good if the paint is properly prepared (free of swirls). Zaino will not cover even small blemishes in paint. I think the blemishes are even more noticable when Zaino is applied.

For starters never use a circular motion...that comes straight from an amazing body shop down here. Always go front to back motion. Also, use a claybar kit to really get down and clean the truck after you hand wash it. if the claybar doesnt get out the swirls, try using meguires swirl remover..works great. Front to back on everything though. And if all else fails...for a couple hundred bucks, take it to a good body shop, and have them cut and buff it...its worth it, it will look better than new!

I had a blck dodge dually for about 2 years, and it had bad swirls in it. I always waxed with a circular motion. I used a clay bar, washed it really good going straight back to fron motion, and took it down and had a custom body shop cut and buff the whole truck. That thing was a show stopper!!

Then you've never used Zaino products correctly. I've owned 5 black vehicles, and I won't use anything else. Swirl marks are history if you do it right.
