Emblem Removal

I think we need a sticky for emblem removal. As soon as things get a little warmer out here (above 60) I'll be taking off emblems. I'm thinking that the only thing I'll leave is the "C" on the sides and the ram emblem on the tailgate.

So is there a how to anywhere. I have heard about using fishing line to cut threw the old adhesive. Then how do you get the rest of the gunk off?

Fishing line w/hair dryer, on my blazer i washed all around the emblems, used a plastic scraper to get them off with some goo gone, didn't leave any marks then i just buffed the area, you get the right light and view on it you can see the newer paint that wasn't touched by the sun but no biggy.

Hairdryer and fishing line is what I use. A heat gun would make it MUCH faster, but I do not have one.

Get all the glue off, and clay the area. You may need/want to polish as well. Then apply your LSP (wax, sealant, etc.)

I used a plastic scraper on one of the emblems and can see slight scratches. I did use Goo Gone and didn't seem to hurt anything. I say the use nothing hard to remove the excess adhesive. Gonna try the polishing tip-seems like that will do the trick.

I used a paintshop sticky remover, some syrenges and heavy duty cow needles with goo gone to inject it behind the badges, a heat gun, and fishing line. then 3ms pin strip remover to get the rest.

The best thing to do is just go to an auto body shop and ask them to do it. they have a special machine for it. i did it and they only charged me 50 bucks and it took like 15 min. doesnt leave a scratch or glue mark and is a lot less chance of you scratching or doing something bad to the truck!
