Guess that is my only option. If if get ahold of a buffer I'll prob burn through my paint. It's better to leave to the pro's. Thanks.

depending on the color and how deep they are u might be able to hand polish the out(try 3m perfect 3000), if not a highspeed buffer and the same polish with a foam pad and u wont burn trough with some commen sense.

Hand polishing will not remove them, it will only temp. fill them in, and that will only last a very short time.

Hand polishing cannot create the two factors that are NEEDED for paint correction, which are heat & friction

Depending on how bad they are, I would (after wash & clay) LC Orange Pad or White Pad with Menz IP/SIP, then follow up with a white/grey & final polish, then wax

My motto is death before drivethru when it comes to washes ... but im crazy like that when it comes to detailing

swirl marks are not deep scratches and there is not much to fill.
i hand polish them out every day at the shop mostly on black thats why i asked what color, but your right u need heat and high speed/friction to remove a deep scratch and some swirl marks depending on the color and depth,
but u can create heat and friction by hand polishing it just takes more work and the right compound.

Actually there is PLENTLY to fill when it comes to swirls. The oils from the compounds will fill in those minor scratches in the clear coat VERY easily, and getting them REMOVED by hand is very very time consuming, non-efficient, and almost impossible.

Speed & heat again are needed to correct any paint damage (within reason)

I own a body shop and I have been painting cars for 15+ years and it can be done, like i said do it all the time, it not as hard or time consuming as u would think just trying to help somone out that might not want to spend $300+ dollors on a buffer

Thats fine dude ... I know a ton of body guys ... and they are GREAT at what THEY do.

But body guys are NOT detailers ...
A detailer is what I am ...

It CAN be done, but is it the most effective way and best way to correct paint? ... No its not

If you got a "swirl" out with a clay bar, then it wasn't a swirl.

Using a clay bar isn't rocket science ... Just have to be carefull not to induce any other damage while using

I agree, If I have a question about anything that has to do with cleaning or polishing...It will be brought to your attention. I have not seen a polishing job on chrome wheels like you just pulled off in my life. Great job, great looking truck, and always great advice.
