Pine Sap

What is the best way to remove Pine sap from my paint??? I have a couple of large drops on the hood. My paint isn't the greatest but I would like to save what i still have and make the best of it... One of the spots already seems to be eatin at the clear coat.

I found WD-40 to work the best.

Wash the truck, and get off what you can. You can use wd-40 or goof-off as a last resort thing, if you need too. After you get it removed, clay the entire truck.

Then you can ethier polish/final polish and do some paint correction (ie: remove swirls, scratchs, micro-marring, etc) and re "jewel" the paint

Then wax

a razor blade works GREAT for getting most of it off. I like to put some solvent on it first to soften it up. the razor will take off 95% of it, then I just wipe the rest off with a MF towel and some more solvent.

I always use a new razor blade, and make sure you keep low angle on it so it wont catch the paint.

I use rubbing alcohol to get it off my hands, I would think that it would work great for your issue.

For paint use a 50/50 ratio of Alco./Distilled Water

This will rid of any oils, etc. on the paint surface.

I use this as a wipedown after polishing to check my work, to make sure that whatever paint correction I am attemping, is fixed, and not temporarily filled by oils in the polish

Had a feeling that you would chime in and go a little overboard I would love to clay my whole truck if my paint was worth it. I will be doing that if I ever get her repainted.

Thanks everyone... I'll be trying the wd-40.
