Washing / shampoo carpet

How is everyone keeping the floor in the trucks clean?? Or how are they cleaning them (other than the vacuum response)

If you dont have access to a carpet extractor, there is a hand scrub method with carpet brush and cleaner and then extract the water via wet/dry vac or blot it out with towels that is supposed to work pretty well for those of us not fortunate enough to have a professional extractor. Ive never done it that way but id love to know how to do it. Perhaps Mike will step and lend his advise.

I opted for a vinyl floor when I bought by 05 QC. Recently added leather seat covers. Best money I spent. When I had carpet - I used a carpet cleaner and scrubbed the carpet manually. Probably not the best way - but it worked for me.

My Husky Liners keep my carpet spotless. One of the best investments I have made for my truck by far. All I have to do is take them out wash and dry them and vacuum my carpet occasionally.

Matt,
Well said. If you do not have an extractor, then use the meathod that Matt has posted above. This is a fantasic method. To add to that, It honestly depends on how bad the carpets are. What do I highly recommend? Folex! ... This stuff will become your new best friend, and its not very expensive (around $17 a gallon the last time I bought some)

I keep several bottles on hand ... two mixtures. Full Strentgh (Spot Cleaning) 4:1 Dilution (General APC)

Spray on, agitate with the proper brush (interior brush, no not use any old brush as they will destroy the nap in the carpet over time) and extract with an extractor or a good quaility wet/dry shop vac. (I put fancy stripes in the carpets when I do them!)

If they are very bad, do the same step above, and use a pressure washer. Of course you are going to have to extract as much water as possible, then let air dry. If a someone brings me a vehicle with very dirty floormats, I do them early, so they are dry by the time I am done with the rest of the vehicle

-Mike

I use Orange clean and a scrub brush, it does the best job I have ever seen, but you will need a shampooer because it does get sudsy. I have had vehicles with coffee stains and tobacco stains and Orange clean and some elbow grease it took every stain right out. Good Stuff.

This is where Folex really shines. It leave no residue what so ever, just spray, agitate, vac.
