Ditto. I upgraded to a microfiber cloth and it really works with the vinegar.

MX-7 has a window water spot cleaner. About $16 a bottle. is a thick liquid with like sand in it( at least feels like that) scrub it in, then it becomes powdery and you rub it away. Works good. I would do this before a wash so you dont have the powdery residue.

Got it at napa. Ill have to try the vinegar.

i just rain-x'ed as well and it made the windows crystal clear if you do it right. i didnt use the spray bottle or anything just poured some on my window and rubbed it in until it hazed up then wiped with a clean cloth until it was gone. multiple coats are always good too
