IMO, If drag racing is what you want to do, an auto is probably what you need.

Question I wanted to see an answer for myself... I ran a 14.414 @ 96.58 MPH a couple weeks ago
I know with some practice I could do better.....

I know a guy with an 03 manual that runs low 13's in the 1/4. Seriously bombed engine and lots of nitrous. It is crazy that this guy is shifting gears and still outruns most autos. There was talk of a guy several years ago that was running 11's with a stick. I don't know of him personally, but most of the chatter about it suggested that he launched in 4th and only shifted one time during the run. I believe that was a 2nd Gen truck.

Not to highjack your thread here Jef, but how do you like the BD kit? What about the FE?

the short shift was an extremely easy install (30 min) and it makes a difference shortend up the throws just like it said im still looking for some more though i've been thinking about shortining my actuall shift lever by about an inch or so and sticking a hurst ball with a line lock switch i went with a SB con ofe which is a milder clutch than the fe

6 er

Slipper clutches give you a wild ride but your having to replace them alot depending on what type. Jeff Prince here in Corpus Christi started with a 5 speed, he did some wicked launches. He traded off that 5 er for a tricked auto, I was told hes in the 10's now ....Great job Jeff !!!!!!

Isn't a line lock for your brakes?

yeah its an inline valve that allows you to lock your front brakes and release your rears at the same time (ie burnouts, launches,)
