Capped or topless???

Looking for some opinions here...

Considering 2wd without slicks, would you run with a topper to add weight to the rear wheels for launch traction, or topless to shed overall weight?

honestly....the topper isnt probably going to affect on or off by more than a few thousanths in the quarter.......if you wanna get real serious go with some ladder bars in the rear and shed as much other weight as you can.........the topper will probably help the aerodynamics at high speeds though.......and driving with your tailgate down actually REDUCES aerodynamics.......just a few things to think about......Marc

You can't run down the strip with the tailgate down anyway, atleast not around here. Gotta be up or off.

I would try it both ways :thumbsup

Yep, I am planning on bars in the rear before I run.

The last time I ran, I went topless and removed the tailgate. If I heated up the tires I could launch with 2-3 psi of boost and and keep traction going into 2nd gear, but I have a lot more power now.

With slicks I could launch upwards of 10-15psi which would be a big benefit, however I don't expect to have them by this summer.
