Sorry man...I'm a 12valve guy. Maybe Brian (AK RAM) will chime in...he's run the 1320 pretty tirelessly and knows quite a bit about different combinations.

With a 5 speed you are lookin at starting in 2nd or 3rd and skipin gears to be fast. When I used to drag my 03 6 speed I never lifted the throttle for shifts. You start to get pretty quick after a little practice at speed shifting.

launch it in 2nd ...get good at shifting....and you are ready to go.....have fun and i am sure you will love it.

if you have built pulling trucks then you already know how to make power.

Best luck I've had is an Ebrake boost launch in 3rd, takes a while to get it down but beats all my buddies off the line that lauch in second, other than that you can get started at any power level, go to the local track and you should smoke the rice-rocketeer's and I know how we all love doing that.

hey diesel nut, how do you speed shift without lifting the throttle.....wouldnt you hit the rev limiter (assuming we have one) the only place i can "speed shift" my truck is around 2000 rpm...
