I mean even it if torques enough where it hits, it should do nothing but stop it from moving, anyways.

Thanks for the info.. I am leaning closer and closer to getting the 271.

Do you run the slip yoke?

Thanks!

BTW I left a message on your phone.

1480 slip joint

Haisley Machine Repair has the 1480 slip joint. There is an application that has the right spline count, but the OD is too big. They turn it down to the right OD. Some of the Enterprise Pullers use the 1410 too. If you are running a 3.54 I would be a little leary of it, especially with dual rear wheels. Lot of it depends on truck setup though.

Attention to "Bad 12V"

What transmission do you have that New Process 271 behind. I was wondering if it would bolt up behind my 93' 12Valve. It has a auto 618????

Figured I'd pick this thread up again. I'm the currently the owner of a busted 241 DHD in my 02 auto 3/4 ton. I have been toying with the idea of swapping a 271 into the truck instead of just putting another 241 DHD in.

It sounds like a new rear slip yoke and shorting the drive shaft are the only two things that need to be done with this swap. Or am I missing anything? Also what model 271 should I be looking for? Any out of a 03 & up Auto? For someone who has done this swap, how much does the drive shaft need to be shortened? Would it be possible to use the entire drive shaft from a 03 & up to avoid reworking the rear drive shaft?
