you also need a bigger slipyoke for the 271 and shorten the drive shafts now is a good time to up grade to the 1480 series yokes but this can put a good price tag on the conversion also dont forget to bend the fuel lines outta the way for clearence

@$300 cheaper than the 241, sounds like a good bomb
If you are going to be in Ashcroft at the NHRDA race this weekend, you can take a look at the 271 in mine. BigBadDodge was the first person I know of that did the swap.

Paul
I would like to check out both Ashcroft and the t-case but, a bit farther than I'm willing to travel for a non-sled pull event

I'll have to take a look at the next Portland race.

You guys ought to look at these.

http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/doubler.htm

You could also do a stock 205 swap.. This would be a 2:1 low range as opposed to the doublers 4:1 Either way you are cast iron and chainless..

So do I just need to get a Posi-Lock to replace the vacumn acuated stuff up front?

Other than that, some driveshaft work?

Thanks!

cahammer...you didn't need a posi lock up front did you? I think that vacuum actuator still works.

having a posi lock would help for shift on the go but no you dont need one the orginal actuator works but you have to slow way down like under 10mph to get it to go in there are advantages to the posi lock system you can have 2 low for backing up a trailer or when ever you just need a lower gear and then there is the cost factor that is what stoped me at the time of the conversion also just unscrew the vacume ports on the t-cases and swap them it was that simple

When I done my conversion I could not find the 1480 series for the slip yoke. The only one I could get was the stock 1410. Doese anyone know where I can get the 1480 at?

Talked to Scheids and apparently even Brad Ingram runs a 1410 off the transfer case, so if he runs it I think thats all we'll ever need

CaHammer, do you have a extended cab long box truck? If so, I shouldn't have to notch the frame either, correct?

Thanks
