Pulling Classes?!?!?!?!?

Hey,

Ok this has probably been covered, but here it goes:

What is the difference in the pulling classes????

I hear things like "workstock" and "2.6", "2.8", ect but have no-idea what they mean or what the differences are!!!!!

I'm new to diesels and pulling, but it looks like fun so I would love to learn more about it and maybe get into it sometime!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Winslow

when a class is givin a name like 2.6/2.8/3.0 those numbers are meaning the rule covering the max size of the turbocharger allowed to run in that class. the number refers to the inlet bore size (in most cases). a workstock class usually mean "stock" or "stock appearing" turbo charger.

usually the workstock class doesnt allow any spray. depends on the place as to wat specific rules there is. down here theres only 2 classes, stock turbo or aftermarket. stock means stock appearing turbo, aftermarket means pretty much run wat ya brung, that includes sprayin the heck outta it if u want to. and the weight limit is 8000lbs for both classes.

p.s. be carefull cuz its VERY addictive. i was just gonna pull one time and see wat my old tuck would do,,, a year later i was another 10K in mods and was attendin every pull around here.

Winslow

I know around here in Indiana you would find the workstock is kind of disappearnig. Your options become 2.6 non hanging weight and 2.6 hanging weight for your lower class then the 2.8 are 3.0 chargers or larger bushed down to the 2.8. Obviously it could be totally differnt in your area. If you do have a workstock check into your local rules because someplaces have odd workstock rules

Hey,

Do you guys think my truck would have any chance in a work-stock class??? Not that I care to win or not, but would be fun to!!!!

Do you think my clutch could handle it?????

Anything else????

Thanks,
Winslow

You can download official rulebook on National Association of Diesel Motorsports under sled pulling big red block on left of page.

This is used by most organizations holding sled pulls across the US. NOS is not allowed at most pulls!

Workstock you have as much chance as anyone it's a stock truck! Depends on the driver and if the truck holds up!

Kansas doesnt have much in pulling however MO does and it is starting in OK.

reminded me... workstock usually doesnt allow hangin weight or blocked out suspension or pulling hitches. but i doubt ud have any of that anyways

also down here theyre tryin to not let anyone pull that doesnt have yolk cover or driveshaft loops. but theyll prolly let u pull since its ur first time. i never had them on mine i always told them that i was int he process of makin them.
