Rear Suspension question
Hey guys Iam just getting into pulling as alot of my buddies do it and I go to a lot of events around my area and watch. MY question is has anyone replaced there rear leaf springs to stiffer ones that dont sag nearly as much or at all? In most of the classes around here you cant run suspension stops which seem to work obviously best or air bags that seem to definatly help. So has anyone had a spring shop make up a set of leaf springs that are so super stiff to reduce or stop sag in the rear completely? My 95 is not an everyday driver it is a project truck that I would like to turn into a competitive pulling truck eventually so daily driving smoothness doesnt bother me one bit. Let me know what you guys think about this idea as iam open to any suggestions or tips!

i run stops but i did talk to the local spring shop about this once and he said it was no problem making up a set of super stiff leafs. he said they could build whatever i want. so i dont see it being a major deal for you. on a side note if you dont want to spend the money you can clamp your springs.

on my 02 ford F-350 i replaced the factory leaf spring pack with that of an F-550.... didnt ride to much worse on the road, didnt squat but maybe an inch, or 2.... and only cost me about $200 with springs and new u-bolts and everything!! worked amazing! im gonna measure them up and see if they will fit on my dodge, i loved those springs

I made a set of stops out of 6x6's . It works very good and your truck dont sag a bit when your done pulling take them out and you have a stock ride again

i agree stops would be best like the ones you made but if you read my earlier post, most class's around here dont allow stops.

Wow. just what we need. A educated dumass to get on here and tell people they're hillbilly's. There's no sense in spending $$ to build something that's getting used for about 30second a few times a year or whatever. Be a little more resourceful. Spending $$ on something you can make for free isn't going to get the job done any better, or get you farther down the track.

HOT STUFF I like your thinkin! I didnt feel I needed to spend $$$ to make my suspension solid in the rear. I had theses layin around and they fit the bill. Not braggin but I've placed in the money ever since I used them! I use 2 big zip ties to hold them in and just snip the ties before I leave and take them out! HILLBILLY enginering at its best!

I've seen ones made out of 4x4's worked fine for the guy, never broke on him. Kinded of laughed when I first saw them but he wins. Bottom line WINS. Besides that stuff is what makes this schitt fun.
