Diy bumper kits !!!!

We are signing on with HFO fab for a big deal and I need to know how this sounds to you guys. We are gonna build custom steel bumpers for our Dodge trucks at affordable prices. Since everyone has a "uncle Bill" who knows how to weld....What do you guys think of a "Weld it yourself" kit for building a custom bumper. It will arrive in pieces cut and ready to weld up. This saves time, money, and allows us to offer them super cheap. This idea was put on the table last night at a meeting and I'm not so sure this is a good idea? What you guys think?

Great idea.

Easier to ship.

May need some sort of waiver for the d.i.y guy to cover you when the welds break, it falls off and smashes a small dog or something.

If the price is right and the design is good, I'm sure they'll sell.

Just be sure the parts are ground and prepped and not just lasered and left rough.

Different prices for different levels of finish. Hmm...

Some guys don't mind hours on a grinder for cheaper!

I'd like to see a water jet 1/8 plate SS bumper offered.

I'm talking rough cut, no grinding, just rough plasma cut panels numbered with instructions on how to build. They will be sold as a "off road" use only and a liability waiver will be required. This will drastically lower the cost and we can wipe these out fast.

Exactly what we talked about at the meeting. This would take no time to cut out and be very cost efficient.

I'd buy a build kit just because I don't feel like paying 2000+ for a road armor. Also would it have bars prebent for a grille guard? Seems like a very good idea and easier to ship out. Pm me if you end up doing the build kit.

I really like the idea, been looking for just that sort of thing for a while now, mainly because I don't have the time to cut out cardboard templates to make everything fit and then cut and weld the steel. For a reasonable price this takes a lot of the aggravation out of the build process for people without a fully set up shop, and those that need to use their pickups on a regular basis. I like it!!!
