01 psd can i put a 12v in it in ca .

ive got a 01 ford f250 psd and want to put a 12v in it . the question i have is in 2010 when they are supposibly going to check these trucks am i going to have a problem with an older motor in a newer truck. or should i buy a 24 valve. i want to put out some power with this truck , as i do pull trailers and would like to mayby do some truck pulls later on. cant decide on what to put in my truck , it is an auto 4r100 and will need to be built. dad has a built 24v and mom has a 12v with some mods or is the cr a good choice. money doesnt grow on trees but i will be doing all the work in my shop myself. thanks .

That pretty much depends on the state u live in. U can make a 12v burn just as clean if not cleaner that a 24valve. But you say you wanna make some power your gonna have a problem no matter what anyways on the opacity meters. They do make a nice 12valve swap for fords nowadays though.

im just wondering about the motor being older than the truck. here in ca you cant put an older gas .motor in a newer truck or car not shure if that holds true for the diesels

I don't think they can start checking older trucks unless they already have some kind of mandate for that

its not that easy , ive got 8 toyota landcruisers in the back yard. i got to get rid of something and cant justify getting rid of a cruiser for another truck. not yet anyway.

You mean like semi's. Bunch of tree huggers. Ya, I think I heard about this too but it'll be years before it trickles down to our vehicles. Thats why I keep my stock parts, just in case.
