i dont see it happin. the fire truck i drive at work has a 8.3 in it. and its pretty big. it has the allison ESV trans behind it and it drives really well and the jacobs e-brake works well too. (exhaust brake)

There is a guy north of me that from what I heard is putting a 8.3 in a 79 ford I think taken the firewall out and boxed the frame. And some really heavy Leaf springs. Now as far as mods to it I dont know the 8.3 uses te same p pump I believe so it really would be hard with fuel just mathing up a nice turbo and machining the injectors. Then again this guy whos doing this drives a 03 Chevy with a CAT in it. It is nice.

theres a ford on dieselpowermag.com that has the 8.3 under the hood

its one of the pre-1999 fords though
