You're not gonna have much room for your feet in there!! WE've got a 74 Stingray and I'm skinny and it's not a lot of room to begin with. You gonna have a tall Cowl hood to clear everything? Why not put an Allison 6spd in it??? Did you tub it in the back? Looks good. I'll be anxious to see it run!

This thread is oh so encouraging, I've been wanting to put a 4BT in a Cobra kit car for a while, but now that I see a 6 in that Vette I bet it'll fit in a cobra too! My dream comes one step closer!!! Sweet conversion man!

the corvette video seems a little off.

How come I cannot here the engine idle? yet as soon as the tires start spinning you hear it? I think the sound is dubbed.

Maybeeeee - but just because you CAN, doesn't always make it a good idea...

Maybe for a special-purpose vehicle, such as drag racing - otherwise, maybe a waste of a good vette...

Gotta understand - I'm a former vette owner myself ('85) - and fully appreciate the overall balance of power and performance they have in OEM form - sorta hate to see one "Frankensteined" if it's simply to be "different"...

Yeah that is what most of the corvette owners think. But guess what, I really don't care. This car was wrecked, totalled and I am just saved it from a junk heap. Besides this car had a 396 in it with a tunnel ram and 2 660 holleys last time it was on the street. What kind of mileage will that get? Oh like 3, been there done that. How many will the 12v get? Like 15-20 beating on it. Plus when it is shut off you won't even be able to tell it is a diesel. I retained corvette side pipes and the engine sits under the 4" cowl hood. Hopefully the only sticking through the hood will be the MRgasket blower scoop. Thanks for the opinion. LOL

You're absolutely right. There isn't much room in there at all, but I will manage. It has a 4" tall hood scoop on it. An allison will cost a lot to get and put behind the engine. I can do the dodge tranny for about 3 grand cheaper. It is tubbed in the back and has a ford 9" rear end with 31x18.5x15 tires. I was going to put a NV4500 in it but there wasn't enough room in there for a clutch pedal. Plus I want to race it and an auto will be better suited for that.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I can't wait to drive it let a lone hear it run. LOL
