I have seriously thought of the same thing tying pushing about 400hp to 500hp out of a 4bt it kill all those gassers and still getter better mpg.

Well I can go on all day with some swaps Id want to do But my main one is a Glass Body Jeep tube Chassis 2 1/2 ton Rockwells with a CR motor with a big single.

A 8.3 Cummins or 7.1 Cat in a Ford F450

-any year Ramcharger with a 1st gen. Auto or probably 5-speed would be my choice (could be one of the easiest swaps due to the similarities of the 1st gen. pickups)

-old ('56 or '57) Chrysler 300 or something else classic like those big ol' boats

-probably too small to fit a 6bt but maybe a 4bt in one the old cab-over dodge trucks (A100 I think?) can anyone say possible Cummins wheel-stander?!
I know a guy in colorado springs that is building a old cab-over dodge with a 4bt. should be close to getting done. will be a sweet truck!

It's because Ford trucks are made out of real metal. I mow a Dodge dealership and you can see the metal flex on a Dodge pickup when you blow it with a backpack blower, not cool!

I might get a chance to actually do my dream conversion, i'm going to re-buy my first truck/vehicle ever, a 4x4 split windshield '59 willy's pickup truck. I want to stick a 4cyl Cummins in it from an old bread truck or something. With some stacks and a wooden flatbed, that would be one trick little rig.

Ford trucks are tuff. only the 17 th time they have tried to get a real engine ohh wait we get one more new ford engine in a year. who cares go buy one for $55,000. lets count how many times they will re-invent the POS in the next 5 years ?and get 10 mpg? hook up that leaf blower to a ford t'charger to make some boost . the stupid duty trucks actually have "real metal" from the same soda cans i crush every day. they dont build like they usta, but keep the bs in the field and not in this thread....
