82' k20 12v cummins swap

hey guys just looking for information and feed back. I'm looking to put a 12v cummins into my 82' chevy i have a th400 3 speed tranny that id like to use. If any one can help me out im looking for a complete list of parts and any advise on doing the swap thanks

Its a long road . . . Lots of different ways to do these swaps and there really isnt a wrong way to do them either. Im 4 years into my restoration/conversion and nearing the end but can be completed much quicker than mine if you have the funds and time. You can leave the th400 in the truck but I'm afraid you will not be happy with its performance. It will not handle the power of the 6bt and (depending on your gearing) wont go very fast since you wont have overdrive. lots of different ways to do your motor mounts, drivetrain, and other little stuff. My best advice is to look up some other chevy conversions in this message board and find out which route you would like to take. good luck!

ive started my conversion into a 83 k20 and its easier than i thought but im just getting started i bought a whole truck so i would have every part i needed i bought my motor mounts and crossmeber from Tennessee diesel conversions a lil spendy tho 500 cheeper than auto worlds with the crossmember 680 i havn't gotten a chance to use them yet tho ust getten the motor out of the dodge this weekend its definitely slow going and its starting to add up but its looking good taking my time and cleaning and painting every thing i dont know if your looking to box your frame but i found a kit at diyx4.com i think it is to box your frame tons of research

starting 1983 k20 12v conversion marine bowl piston, teflon ceramic coated, benched 215, fire ring, ported, 5x18, 366/480 twin,188/220 hamlton, #60lb, 5gsk, dual feed, dvs, afc mods, billet 47re, ad200, arp top and bottom, dodge dana 80, 79 ford dana 60
