79 Crewcab F-350 conversion

Just joined up and seems like a great site. Thought id post up some progress so far. What i bought was a 1979 F-350 crewcab 2wd. It had a 351m and c6.

I first thought id go with a 460 and a 4wd conversion. But the more i looked into things a diesel was the way to go. So i sourced a 1992 W250 clubcab. Complete with 5.9 IC/getrag and 205 case. One owner and 155k.

After a long while and debate it finally ended up on a 1978 F-250 supercab longbed frame. Giving me a 155" Wheelbase. Built a crossmember to give me 2" lift.
Crossmember is made from the factory spring hanger and some 2x4 1/4 wall box tubing. Not quite done yet but in for a test fit.

Bought a 1979 F-250 parts truck to donate its HP Dana 60 front.

So the plan is to run a divorced Ford NP 205 behind the married Dodge NP 205 for two reasons. One to get the drop back to drivers side and two so i can run my 15 ton Braden PTO winch off the passenger side front output.

$600 for the crew
$600 for the 60 donor
$2000 for the dodge.
Countless cash for lockers, shocks, gauges, and all the other stuff. Ive got a fortune in Grade 8 hardware. But it will all be worth it. Best deal of all was the tires. Ive got $280 in all 5. Four of them being brand new.

Passenger side drop and the hassle of making it fit into the ford. The ford d60 is pretty much a bolt in job.

That is what he said, Dodge is passengers, Ford is drivers. It isn't always as simple as moving perches, in some fords, the perches are actually cast into the 3rd member.
