85 chevy 5.9 swap ?s

i have an 85 chevy with a four speed granny runnin one ton gear. my question is would i be better off to use a dodge manual instead of trying to retro the chevy driveline to the cummins and save money that way. i plan to use a pro fab t case instead of my 205 any ideas or thoughts will be greatly appreciated this truck is going to be a puller not street driven so that is why i ask about trans maybe run a direct drive gear what would be best thank you much

if by dodge manual u mean the nv4500 i think that u will be better off with the nv4500. 1 they are a good trans and u will have od with the 4500 compared to the 4 speed which doesnt. with a manual u can put it in any gear u want and leave it there u dont have to use the od.

well i dont need the od unless it is direct i dont know much about dodge i figured it would be easier to use dodge stuff instead of converting to my chevy transmission i figured a good clutch would hold up better and be cheaper than a automatic
