Cool 1979 & 1999 F-350 Cummins 12v Swap Build!

Okay so here we go. Started on the 79 first. almost have it all stripped down. just gotta find some people to lift the cab off. then taking out the motor and trans.

Im going out to detroit tomorrow to pick up my cummins 12v motor for 2 grand. But now i gotta find me a 4x4 tranny.

once the motor and such are out im sandblasting the frame and coating it with por 15. hopefully i can get that done within the next week or two.

lots of customization going to in this truck. modding in a 99 f350 dash and steering column. ill post all the custom stuff as i go. theres to much to list.

then once this truck is done im going to be doing a 12v set up in my 99 f-350.

So heres a link to my photobucket album for my progress over the past few weeks. Cummins Build

Its a lifted 79 F350
460ci Big block
16.5 rims with 44in Tires
And lots and lots on Jerry rigged crap that I have to correct.

Thanks for lookin.

Thanks!
It still needs a lot to be bad azz
im waiting for my por 15 to get here so i can sand blast all the frame and suspension and what not.

then i gotta take in my cab and get the floor pans fixed cuz there spots that are rusted through.
then i have to get a crossmemeber custom made cuz the tard before me decided he should just notch it because the 4x4 shaft was hitting.

lets see what else is gunna happen to this.

quard shocks in rear and tripples in front. new paint. taking a newer style superduty brake system and modding in disk brakes. modding in a whole 99 f350 interior. dash steering column seats and center council. ummmm retrofiting projecter headlights and hopefully they wont melt the housing. cab marker roof lights. twin turbo set up eventually. to much ideas lol

but hey this is my first project so i think im doing pretty good.
Not bad for being only 19
Work my off for every vehicle and every mod.
I wish my parents still lived here so i could mouch off them lol

Took a few hours and started cleaning, degrease, and sanding down. Got some high temp. paint and a spray gun and started going at it. was just gunna do the exhaust manifold and turbo exhuast housing. but then i said screw it and might as well do the whole block.
Tomarrow I gotta go to browns before class and get a wire wheel for my drill. gunna polish up the end of the turbo. the top tappet covers. alternator, pumps, intake manifold, and some other vairous things. then gunna go get a gloss heat temp paint and gloss some other things just so its not all just flat black. should be sweet when its done.

I dont have much time tomorrow cuz i got work then class. but wends. im gunna finish up the rest of that side. the do the other majority of the front and the whole other side.

God it looks a trillin times better already.

Did some more painting and cleaning today. just got a lil more scrubbing to do on the front below the oil fill. theres like a pound of burn access oil under there lol.
painted my turbo, intake manifold, and polished my alternator and a/c pump and tension pulley. umm cant seem to get my clutch fan off. have to find someone who has a tool for it :/
ohh well. oh and if anyone has a 4x4 trans that will work with my 96 motor that would be sweet to buy. Id prefer a manual but ill take an auto if its a good deal.
